TLT | Moscow | PUTIN, the president of Russia, has ordered for a ceasefire in the country’s war with neighbouring Ukraine. This pause in the war starts on Saturday 19th April at 1800 hours local Russian time up to midnight on Easter Monday.
The ceasefire declared by the Russian president appears to have been done without any assurances or guarantees of reciprocity from the Ukrainian side. According to Putin, Russia simply assumes that the Ukrainian side will equally pause their military actions on the battlefield.
The latest ceasefire announcement in the Russia-Ukraine war comes on the backdrop of recent comments by the Trump administration about withdrawing from efforts geared towards ending the war, if the two sides in the war do not demonstrate a willingness to find a way to end the conflict that has gone on for over three years.
