TLT| Luweero Town Council | UGANDA’s parliament has given the go ahead for the country’s government to source funds from Stanbic Bank, a local bank.
This comes only days to the natural end to the electricity distributor’s exclusive contract to distribute electricity in the country of 42 million.
The $190 million being borrow is separate from another $50 million due to be borrowed to fund UEDCL (Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited), the incoming electricity distributor. UEDCL is expected to take-over management of the electricity grid come April 1st 2025.
